What are the different user roles?

PlugVerse has four main roles. Each role has its own dashboard and features tailored to their needs. Artist: Performers (bands, solo artists, DJs, duos, etc.) who apply to gigs and get booked for live performances Venue: Physical locations (bars, restaurants, concert halls) that host events and hire artists Organizer: Organizations (fraternities, sororities, clubs, companies, nonprofits) that plan events at venues and hire artists Fan: Music lovers who discover events, follow artists, and leave reviews

How does the booking process work?

The booking process follows a simple flow from posting to performance. A venue or organizer creates an event and adds one or more gig slots (performance opportunities) Each gig slot has a target budget and details about what they're looking for Artists browse available gigs and submit applications with their offer price The venue/organizer reviews applications and can accept, reject, or counter-offer Once both sides agree on terms, a digital contract is generated Both parties sign the contract The venue/organizer pays a deposit to secure the booking After the performance, the remaining balance is paid out to the artist

How do I create an account?

You can sign up with your email or use Google or Apple sign-in for a faster setup. Go to plugverse.app and click 'Get Started' or 'Sign Up' Choose to sign up with email, Google, or Apple Select your role (Artist, Venue, Organizer, or Fan) Choose a unique username Complete the onboarding steps for your role (basic info, location, and role-specific details) You're all set! You can always update your profile later

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from your profile settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including profile information, applications, and transaction history, will be permanently removed. Go to your Settings (click your profile in the sidebar) Scroll to the 'Danger Zone' section Click 'Delete Account' Confirm by typing your username Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted

How do subscription tiers work?

Every tier currently charges $0 booking fee. Paid tiers unlock more usage limits and power tools (analytics, walk-up ticket sales, bulk recurring gigs, etc.). PlugVerse makes money from optional subscriptions and value-added services. A small platform fee may apply to Starter-tier organizer bookings in the future, with at least 30 days notice. Venues and Pro / Business subscribers will continue to pay $0. Artist tiers: Free ($0/mo) or Pro ($24/mo, or $240/yr, Get 2 months free) Venue & Organizer tiers: Starter (Free), Pro ($29/mo), Business ($79/mo) All tiers currently charge $0 booking fee. The difference between tiers is features and usage limits. Annual plans give you 2 months free. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your Settings.

Does PlugVerse charge a booking fee?

Not today. PlugVerse currently does not charge a platform fee, service fee, or commission on bookings. Venues and Pro / Business subscribers will always be free; a small platform fee may apply to Starter-tier organizer bookings in the future, with at least 30 days notice. Standard Stripe processing is always passed through at cost.

What's the difference between protected and self-managed payment?

Every booking is one of two payment paths, chosen together before you sign the contract. Protected (on-platform) means you pay through PlugVerse: funds are held in escrow, released to the artist after the show, and you're covered if the other party doesn't perform. Standard Stripe processing applies. Self-managed (off-platform) means you pay the artist directly (check, your finance office, etc.): PlugVerse keeps the contract, calendar, and records, but there's no escrow, no payment protection, and no dispute help. And no fees. Choose self-managed only with someone you already trust. Protected: pay through PlugVerse → escrow → released after the show → covered if something goes wrong. Self-managed: pay the artist directly → PlugVerse keeps the records → no escrow, no protection, no fees. Both parties pick the path before signing; switching changes the contract terms and requires re-signing.

What's the Stripe processing fee, and who pays it?

The only fee on a booking is Stripe's processing fee, which the venue/organizer pays at cost (we don't mark it up). ACH is the default and cheapest option. ACH (bank transfer): 0.8% capped at $5 per transaction. Default and recommended. Card (credit/debit): 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Fallback option. Stripe Link (instant bank payment): 2.6% + $0.30. Wire transfer (for $2,000+): $8 flat. These fees go to Stripe, not PlugVerse. You can choose your payment method when making a payment.

How do contracts work on PlugVerse?

When an artist and venue/organizer agree on terms for a gig, a digital contract is automatically generated. Both parties must sign it before the booking is confirmed. After an application is accepted (or negotiation reaches agreement), a contract is created The contract includes the agreed price, performance date/time, venue details, and terms Both the artist and venue/organizer must sign the contract digitally Once fully signed, the contract becomes active and the venue/organizer can pay the deposit After the performance, the remaining balance is released to the artist

What happens if there's a dispute?

Disputes have two surfaces depending on timing. BEFORE the event happens, either party can request a cancellation. The other party gets 72 hours to accept, counter, or reject, and any refund follows the contract's cancellation policy. AFTER the event ends, the payer can file a post-event dispute ("Report a problem" in the booking hub). The reported party then has 48 hours to either accept fault, which triggers a full refund automatically, or contest the claim, which sends it to PlugVerse support for a ruling. If they don't respond within 48 hours, PlugVerse support steps in. Pre-event: open the booking → Request Cancellation → pick a category → counterparty has 72h to respond Post-event: open the booking → Report a Problem → pick a category + attach evidence → reported party has 48h to respond If the reported party accepts fault → full refund is issued automatically If they contest → PlugVerse support is looped in and rules on both sides If they ignore the request → PlugVerse support is looped in automatically after the window expires

What is the cancellation policy?

By default, cancellations made more than 48 hours before the event may receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event carry a 50% penalty (50% goes to the non-cancelling party, 50% is refunded to the payer). Venues can customize these terms when they post a gig. The exact policy for any given booking is in the contract you signed. Force majeure events (natural disasters, government orders, health emergencies, documented illness/injury of a key performer) waive the penalty and trigger a full refund. After the event time has passed, cancellation is no longer the right surface. Use "Report a problem" from the booking hub instead.
